How did you get into painting your clothes?
Sumo: "I've always been into fashion and the art of being unique with an outfit! I went to a high school where we didn't wear uniforms and I used to be late to school because I would take 2 hours trying to find something to wear. I also got tired of trying not to wear the same thing everyday, so I started painting on my clothes so it wasn't obvious I was actually wearing the same thing so many different ways"
" I decided at a very young age that I would choose to see art in everything, and I mean everything! My mindset is that everything I encounter and experience, see, feel, touch, should always be a new creative vibe for me, and this mindset continues to play a pretty great role in the way my art comes to life."
What's one of your favorite intentional creations?
Sumo: "One of my all-time favorite things I've painted was this blank, white V-neck t-shirt. I remember I was painting something else and the shirt was next to my paint palette. I decided to use it to clean my brush when I would switch colors and when I finished the painting, and it actually turned into something beautiful. To complete the design on the shirt, I wrote the word 'abstract' over the colorful accident and the result was intentional!"
What do you want the people who support you to know?
Sumo: "I want people to know what I do and look at it as my way of living and breathing. I want my art to be a literal reason to be intentional. Wether its cusyomized clothes or artwork, I want people to take pride in living in a way that promotes their motive to be intentional. I also want my art to turn heads! The vibe is for others to experience the intentions you live in by seeing you flex in them! That's why I love saying "FLEX YOUR INTENTIONS" it's literally a lifestyle, and for me that's what it's all about"
"I am connected in every way to everything I do artistically; intentionally."
